Spring/Fall 2026 Cohort - Launching March 2026

  • Students will engage in virtual courses covering:

    • Black Fashion History: Examining the contributions of Black creatives to the fashion industry.

    • Fashion Industry Fundamentals: Gain insight into fashion careers, sustainability principles, and the business side of the industry.

    • Technical Skills Development: Instruction in sewing techniques, design principles, and pattern making.

  • Students will participate in collaborative, fashion-focused research projects facilitated by program alumni.

  • Each student will be paired with a fashion industry professional for personalized mentorship, focused on individual goals that support their creative and personal growth.

  • The program concludes with a series of virtual events, including:

    • Workshops: Covering topics such as career development and sustainable fashion practices.

    • Expert Talks: Featuring insights from experienced fashion professionals.

    • Networking Events: Opportunities to connect with industry professionals and program alumni.

    • Graduation Ceremony: Scheduled for August 30, 2026.

For Students & Parents

Eligibility:
Black teens ages 14–18 with an interest in a fashion career. (No prior experience required.)

What to Expect:
Our program is 100% virtual, so you can participate from anywhere! You’ll join online fashion courses (Black Fashion History, Business of Fashion, Sustainable Fashion, Fashion Design), collaborate on alumni-led research projects, and meet one-on-one with a fashion professional. All sessions follow Eastern Standard Time (EST), so be sure to plan accordingly.

Resources Provided:
If needed, we’ll provide you with a sewing machine, sewing kit, and fabric to fully participate in our Fashion Design courses. All students will receive a month of career prep, including workshops, expert talks, networking events, and chances to apply for internships and volunteer opportunities.

  • Approx. 60 hours total across six months

    (Hours may vary slightly)

    • March–April: 4 hrs/week × 9 weeks = 36 hours

    • May: 2 hrs/week × 5 weeks = 10 hours

    • June–July: 1 hr/week × 9 weeks = 9 hours

    • August: 5+ hours total

  • Registration opens September 15, 2025 and closes November 15, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)

    Applications must include:

    • A recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or employer

    • A 3–5 paragraph essay

    March - April 2026 | Courses
    Saturday and Sunday, choose between:

    • 9 AM - 11 AM EST

    • 12 PM - 2 PM EST

    May 2026 | Group Sessions

    Sundays only, choose between:

    • 9 AM - 11 AM EST

    • 12 PM - 2 PM EST

    June - July 2026 | 1:1 Sessions
    One 1-hour session per week, scheduled based on mutual availability with your mentor.

    August 2026 | Career Readiness Month

    Virtual workshops, expert talks, and networking mixers. Held on weekends. Times may vary.
